What causes baby acne?
5 CommentsMy 9 month old son was it all over his face. How can i clear it up?
You should consider the person who suggested it was an allergic reaction. Is it just on his face or around his diaper area, too? Does it come and go? Are you nursing? My daughter would break out really bad, too. The doctor gave us a prescription for hydrocortisone (sp?) cream. Before I ever used the cream, though, I realized that it happened or got worse every time I had oranges or orange juice. She was getting it through my breast milk.

In the beginning, baby acne has a lot to do with the residual horomones from mom, but later on they can be caused by overactive sweat glands as well. There really isn’t much you can do. Wash very gently with a soap like aveeno and pat dry morning and night. Also resist the urge to touch them and try to have your son keep his hands aways from his face.

are you sure it’s acne or an allergic reaction?

It is from the hormones he got from you when he was born.
My daughter had them real bad when she was first born.
Wash with warm water 3 times a day, use no soap in the tub, don’t put lotion on his face, and don’t pick at them, Its should clear up on its own soon.
hers were gone after 5 months.

Try using Aveeno for babies.. My son gets pimples too and I think it because to many people kiss him and if they have lipstick it is alot worse. Good Luck to you!!!
